Barberton Lady Magics lose 17-2 to Tallmadge HS
Barberton Lady Magics collected four hits, but Barberton Lady Magics fell 17-2 to Tallmadge HS at BHS Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Brianna Idell got the win for Tallmadge HS. She allowed two runs over six innings. Idell struck out 10, walked two and gave up four hits.
Tallmadge HS easily handled Barberton Lady Magics pitching as six hitters combined for 14 hits, 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
Lily Metsker ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed eight runs in three innings, walked two and struck out none.
Tallmadge HS tacked on another six runs in the third. A steal of home scored Kali Stroud for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by Alyssa Garbinsky’s three-run home run, plating Olivia Carey and Madison Rearick.
After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fourth, Barberton Lady Magics faced just a 8-1 deficit. An RBI single by Hailey Abrams fueled Barberton Lady Magics’ comeback. Idell ended the inning by getting Hanna Homan to strike out.
Barberton Lady Magics scored one run in the bottom of the sixth to cut its deficit to 15. A passed ball set off Barberton Lady Magics rally. Finally, Idell got Abrams to fly out to end the game.
