Seventeen years after it was installed the BHS Track will receive some major improvements as the surface has started to show its age. Beginning sometime during the week of June 26, 2017 the Glen Jeep Davis Track will receive upgrades to its surface. As a result, the track will be closed once construction begins until the project is finished.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause, but we believe once it is finished it will be back to where it was when it opened.
The Barberton High School boys’ and girls’ track teams, the Barberton Middle School boys’ and girls’ track teams, BHS Physical Education classes, BHS & BMS students, the BHS boys’ and girls’ soccer teams, and most of the HS and MS teams (for conditioning) use the facility throughout the year along with many community members for walking and/or running.
Our teams and student-athletes that use the facility during the summer for conditioning will use the sidewalks around the HS, the block around the BHS complex, Lake Anna upper and lower sidewalks, and the Barberton Community Foundation course as options to condition. We invite the public to do the same as the City of Barberton has many beautiful places to run and walk.
Thank you to the citizens of Barberton, the Barberton BOE, and the BCSD Administration for their commitment to the student-athletes of our school system.
Keep track of the progress at our Track Construction Gallery – BHS Track Project .
