Boys Varsity Football · Gavin Krska Selected as the 2018 Ken Sennett Award Winner

Senior Gavin Krska was selected as the 2018 Ken Sennett Award Winner at the Awards Night on Monday, December 3, 2018.  The award is sponsored by the Barberton All-Sports Boosters.

The Award is named after Ken Sennett.  The description of the award reads as follows ….Ken Sennett died suddenly in October of 1964.  he was the quarterback of the BHS football Team; A 17‐year‐old star of Barberton High’s undefeated football team.  He collapsed in class in the morning at school.  This was a huge loss for everyone – his family, his classmates, his teammates, and the community of Barberton.  The type of person and athlete that he was made him a magnet as a leader on the team and for his teammates and coaches.  He was being recruited by the Ohio State University as well as other major universities.  He was the first person to ever be inducted into the Barberton Sports Hall of Fame posthumously.
