Rob Winebrenner, father of Justin Winebrenner, has started Operation Blue Light to honor fallen police officers, firemen, and servicemen. Akron Police Officer Justin Winebrenner was shot and killed on November 16, 2014 while protecting others. On Tuesday, November 17, 2015 Fall Sport Student-Athletes were recognized for their work in the classroom and on the field. Twenty-five athletes received Suburban League Honors for on field performance and 78 received academic honors for having a 3.5 or higher in the first quarter of the 2015-16 school year.
